Hey remember me?! I disappeared for a while (again) – lost that blogging mojo (again) but hopefully I’m back on the wagon for a while. Though my recent absence has not reflected it, I have missed this. Connecting images with my ramblings… sharing snippets of my life… connecting with you… I know you’re out there. Just a few of you but you’re there and I am grateful. And though I can’t promise I won’t disappear again, know that I’ll show back up eventually. I just can’t stay away forever. :)

lunch: making the long trek home across 5 states and stopped for a picnic lunch. Would’ve been grand had it not been hotter than the sun and the bees had left us alone!

your favourite color: red. red. red. r-e-d. red. and every girl should have at least one pair of red shoes that make her feel special. (ahem… with my obvious shoe obsession, of course i have more than one pair but who’s counting?)

texture: denim. up close & personal with my olloclip. Have I mentioned how much I love that little gadget lately? And if I have, tough. I love love love it. seriously. you think I’m kidding.

fun busy-ness {photoaday}

self portrait: had I realized that this was the prompt a few days ago, I probably wouldn’t have done a selfy for ‘imperfect’. Oh well… this is me exhausted after a 12 hour car ride to St Louis.

busy: 4 year old nephew is constantly in motion, playing with toys, talking non-stop, and singing about bars of soap (that story is for another day)

best part of your day: we arrived in Kansas City and the family convened for dinner upon our arrival as always. It’s chaos but I love it. A chance to sit down for a visit with Pappaw is such a blessing.

fun: 4th of July traditions… opening ceremonies, the national anthem, a picnic, catching up with old friends & family and of course the annual Bill Couser Memorial Horseshoe Tournament. I played for the first time this year with cousin Michelle as my partner. It was miserably hot but we had a good time even though we lost both our games. Gotta start practicing for next year…

on the floor: Addi was kind enough to oblige me with a silly face and then chose her filter for this shot. She’s such a nut and has the most adorable giggle on the face of this planet.

chair: settled in after happy hour at the hodie (this is what the kids call the hotel). Time to chill.

what’s on your mind {photoaday}

from a high angle: um yeah… so my idea of a high angle differs than most since my vantage point is a little lower to the ground

movement: driving home from a friend’s birthday party. super fun evening with peeps I haven’t seen in ages!

on your mind: Sunday was a crazy busy day so I had a lot on my mind. Lots of good things… happy things… fun things… things that make me smile…

something cute: Oh Gus. you seriously are cute. don’t you wanna come home with me?

where you shop: tar-jay is my go-to shopping spot. those little red clearance stickers get me every time.

bathroom: my little bathroom – kinda messy at the moment. ok, so it’s like this most of the time. just keeping it real, folks.

on the shelf: so I’ve got this friend that has some super cool vintage cameras. I wonder if he’d notice if any of them went missing.

a friend: a long road trip with one of my sisters… so grateful we’re friends too

a few insights {photoaday}

imperfect: it’s said that you’re your own worst critic and I am no different. I’m learning to accept my flaws – inside & out – and put them in the proper perspective. physical imperfections are so easy to focus on and pick apart but they are what make us unique. accepting my imperfections and not let them affect my confidence has always been a struggle but growing in this area more and more. and my internal imperfections… selfishness, pride, jealousy, really too many others to name… those are the things that make me so very thankful for grace. so this is me… absolutely positively imperfect but embracing it with each passing day.

a fave photo you’ve ever taken: this was just a quick snapshot of my niece. she was so done with my camera in her face but she still wanted to ham it up.

where you slept: this is my bed. it’s all mine and yes, i use 4 pillows.
