101/365 – 2010

picture spring day 11: heart shaped world

Today’s prompt: Find (or create) a heart shaped sweet-nothing today. Can you feel the love?

Today’s assignment is rather appropriate given the lesson we taught in Praise City (children’s church) this morning. The main theme has been “God made all things good” with the lesson focusing on angels & how they watch over us & can often protect us. God loves us so much & wants to protect & care for us. So, (and follow my connection here because it may be reaching a bit but it makes sense in my head) when I see a heart in something as everyday as a lamp it is a nice reminder of God’s love for us. If He cares for us in even the little things, how much more will He care for us when we are in the midst of a struggle.

We sang the song God of This City in worship and the lyrics are simple but awesome:

You’re the God of this city
You’re the King of these people
You’re the Lord of this nation
You are

You’re the light in this darkness
You’re the hope to the hopeless
You’re the peace to the restless
You are

For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done in this city

For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done here

There is no one like our God
There is no one like our God
