Last week we made the trek to Missouri to see family for the 4th. The Independence Day picnic has been going on for nearly 60 years and it’s a tradition that I wouldn’t miss for the world. (why else would we spend 14+ hours trapped in a vehicle?!) So many of my favorite memories growing up have happened while there. These are just a few images from last week’s adventures.
3 sets of horseshoe pits ready & waiting for the tourney to begin
since 1991: the coveted traveling trophy - and the tourney winners get their name engraved on the plaque
ending the night with a bang
driving right into the storm... not fun
ventured through the Mark Twain caves in Hannibal, MO - pretty cool
had lunch at a local winery - it was g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s. and i seriously want one of those giant umbrellas
this was our view during lunch. see? beautiful!
